Sweet vegetable puree

Making your own baby food is easy and budget friendly and your baby will love the sweet flavours of this vegetable puree. It is a great source of dietary fibre and vitamins C and A.

Ingredients

  • 1 small potato

    peeled and chopped

  • 1 small sweet potato

    peeled and chopped

  • 1 small carrot

    peeled and chopped

  • 1 corn

    husks removed

Equipment

  • 1 pot
  • 1 blender

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop up potato and carrot; remove husks from corn.
  2. Combine all together in a pot of boiling water and simmer for around 10 minutes.
  3. Strain veggies (reserve a little of the water for use in puree).
  4. Cut corn from the cob and place all veggies together in a blender. Blend until smooth.

Notes

Tip
Babies naturally have a sweet tooth so you won’t find it too challenging to get your baby eating this puree!
Variation
You could puree and freeze each vegetable separately and then combine just before serving – that way you can vary the veggie combination and flavours.
Storage
This puree can be frozen for up to six weeks.
